  • The Transportation Master "Planning program" is responsible for anticipating future community and regional transportation needs and seeing to it that the multi-modal system gets built in an ordered and timely fashion. Key processes include capital planning, master planning for all modes and integration of parking, trip reduction and operation of transit and special needs transportation services. Planning develops master long-range plans for streets, transit, BIKEWAYS ???, and SIDEWALKS ???. It reviews private developer proposals to ensure that long-range traffic impacts are considered, and infrastructure completion is appropriately timed. This program conducts preliminary planning for transportation capital projects such as traffic forecasting, feasibility studies and environmental assessments. It explores policy-level decisions regarding methodologies to finance transportation infrastructure, including impact fees. It administers the bicycle and pedestrian program, and is the City’s representative to regional, state, and national transportation organizations.

    DUI deaths = SCOTTSDALE SUCKS

Arizona: Tops in nation for increase in DUI deaths
What does this mean in a state that has some of the most oppressive and draconian DUI laws in the nation?

It means these laws don't work. In traditional Arizona style, they're more geared toward revenue-generation than safety.

Mandatory jail time ... huge fines ... mandatory ignition interlock devices for 1st offenders ... the list goes on and on. (And cities like Scottsdale and Mesa use a little-known state statute that allows an officer to arrest and charge you for DUI - actually called DWI under the statute - if in the officer's opinion you are impaired ... without a breath test, or even with a negative one!!! That my friends is tyranny.)

Here's what a commentor on AZCentral had to say - and I agree:

Maybe people you should allow the legalization of letting drunks sleep in their cars, maybe then they wouldn't actually drive drunk. But, when you have a M.O.R.O.N society, you let the police and prosecutors translate if you are anywhere near your car you will get a DUI, if you don't think it's true, go to DUIBLOG where you will find story after story of things that you didn't think would happen. It's to the point where if you have two beers and walk near your car with keys in your pocket, you will get a DUI, which now will cost you $10k to defend, pay fines, pay alcohol classes (cause you drank two beers), pay for jail, go to jail, pay for a breathalyzer to be installed in your car, pay fees at DMV, pay increased insurance costs. Now just go ahead people go ahead cry out some more about all these DUI stories, just give in some more to the money greedy machines. YOU ARE ALL BEING FOOLED!!!!!

PAY UP TO THE MAN... BECAUSE YOU ARE ALL MINDLESS SHEEP!!!! YES I'M (inappropriate term), but I'm not a Drunk Driver, I'm an American Patriot who knows that our founding fathers are spinning in their graves right now.

years in helping humanity - war money

  • It is vitally important for continued profit that certain large corporations support the creation of more and more armament, regardless of how many innocent lives are lost in the process. It's all just collateral damage, after all. And if the legion of death they help create turns a tidy profit, well, why not:
    Who approx annual
    revenue
    approx % revenue
    from war contracts

(Does not include indirect profits from war)
    Lockheed Martin $37,000,000,000 65%
    General Dynamics $23,000,000,000 55%
    Raytheon $22,000,000,000 45%
    Northrop Grumman $30,000,000,000 42%
    Halliburton $10,000,000,000 41%
    Science Applications Int’l $8,000,000,000 35%
    Boeing $54,000,000,000 35%

While none of those corporations supra or their confrères such as United Technologies, Veritas Capital Fund, Washington Group International, International American Products, Perini, Parsons, Environmental Chemical, L-3 Communications, Halliburton, and the like would do so of course, one cannot but wonder if there might not be a few rogue companies somewhere which create profit by building weapons of genocide and crimes against humanity. They might for example, produce 125 new large scale nuclear bombs per year at a cost to their country’s taxpayer of more than $25,000,000,000 per annum - far more than any other country on the planet, and more than enough to kill every living entity many times over. Nor would these corporations ever consider aiding in construction of Complex 2030 to augment nuclear weapons facilities throughout their country. Nor would they participate in the the Reliable Replacement Warhead program, happily replacing old nuclear weapons with massively more lethal ones. Both actions would be a clear and obvious violation of the 1970 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, so of course none of the corporations listed supra would even consider being involved in such law breaking and crimes against humanity.

Participating in the massive buildup of such weaponry would be also be a clear indicator of the psychopathology of the CEOs and government officials involved. But since no one who is insane could ever rise to high office, obviously neither government nor corporate leaders could be involved in such matters. Nor could they be involved in the wholesale mass production and deployment of cluster bombs, land mines, atomic weapons, biological weapons, crowd control microwave, napalm, MK77, BZ, or any other such horrors clearly in violation of a plethora of international conventions to which their nation is a signatory.

Might it be possible that the billions of dollars poured into the coffers of those who do participate in creating, manufacturing, and deploying this odium could be put to other use? Could such corporate profits which derive largely from taxpayer pocketbooks, be used for improving education, housing, reducing poverty, providing fresh water, providing medical care for the poor, and the like? Perhaps. But there is obviously no other way to defend oneself from artificially manufactured threat and socially engineered fear, than through armament and military build up. And if a little profit is made on the side for those in the business or their former employees now in Cabinet, well, why not?

The following corporations and groups are particularly praiseworthy for their unstinting commitment over the years in helping humanity toward its current state. You may enjoy researching their contributions toward the well being of all: Lockheed-Martin, Lucent, Halliburton, Intel, MPAA, RIAA, Tavastok Institute, Fraser Institute, Hughes/Raytheon, Monsanto, Chevron, Carlyle Group, Dow Chemical, Amsouth Bancorp, Wal-Mart, PhRMA, Bristol Myers Squibb, Alliant Techsystems, GlaxoSmithKline, Boeing, McDonald’s, DeBeers, Union Carbide, CACI International, I.G. Young drivers at risk, AAA warns parents

    by Brent Whiting - Apr. 17, 2008
    11:57 AM The Arizona Republic

Two Peoria teens were injured when they crashed a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse while attempting to shoot a car stunt for posting on the You Tube video-sharing site.

Three crashes involving teenage drivers, including one over the past weekend in Peoria, serve as a sad reminder that teen motorists are at risk, an AAA Arizona official says.

"Young drivers are more likely to be involved in a crash than drivers in any other age group, especially when their vehicles contain passengers," said Linda Gorman, a spokeswoman for the group that provides automotive, insurance and auto-travel services.

Studies show that for each passenger a teen driver has in a vehicle, the crash risk doubles, she said Thursday "Driving inexperience, multiple passengers and speeding is often a recipe for disaster in many of these instances," Gorman said. In fact, traffic crashes are the No. 1 cause of death for teens throughout the United States, killing more of them than alcohol, drugs, suicide and violence combined, she said.
That's why it's important for parents to talk to young drivers about a number of safety issues, including distractions, speed, drugs, alcohol and seat-belt usage, she said.

Gorman said her concerns have been fueled by these three crashes:
    • A Saturday crash in Peoria in which a 16-year-old male driver, according to police, was trying to perform a high-speed car stunt for the popular YouTube video-sharing Web site.
•Mike Tellef, a Peoria police spokesman, said Thursday that the driver remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old female passenger escaped with injuries that were less serious.
    • A fatal rollover Wednesday evening on Arizona 153 north of University Drive in Phoenix. The crash involved seven teen occupants of a GMC SUV, including a 17-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old passenger who was ejected and killed.
    • A Thursday morning collision in Pinal County in which two teenage Florence girls were injured after their vehicle collided with an oncoming train on Arizona Farms Road near Hunt Highway.

Gorman said that from 1995 through 2004, teen-driver crashes in Arizona killed nearly 700 people, according to a study commissioned by AAA Arizona.

"These tragedies that occurred over the past couple of days are similar to the ones we hear about year after year," she said. "Unfortunately, as a result of them, we are reminded of how devastating the results can be."

In 2006, more than 9,000 teens in Arizona were injured and 160 were killed, Gorman said. In addition, males were more likely to die in these crashes than females.
